What is medical weight loss?
Medical weight loss is a physician-supervised program that uses evidence-based treatments to help individuals lose weight. It may include a combination of medications, dietary changes, exercise, and behavioral therapy to achieve sustainable weight loss.
How does hormone replacement therapy (HRT) help with weight loss?
HRT can help balance hormones that affect weight, such as thyroid hormones, insulin, and sex hormones like estrogen and testosterone. Balanced hormones can improve metabolism, reduce fat accumulation, and increase energy levels, making weight loss more achievable.
What types of medications are used in medical weight loss?
Medications used in medical weight loss can include appetite suppressants, fat absorption inhibitors, and medications that affect metabolism. Examples include semaglutide, phentermine, and orlistat. These medications are prescribed based on individual needs and medical history.
Who is a candidate for hormone replacement therapy?
Candidates for HRT are typically individuals experiencing symptoms of hormone imbalance, such as fatigue, weight gain, mood changes, and low libido. A healthcare provider will evaluate your symptoms and perform blood tests to determine if HRT is appropriate for you.
Are there any side effects of hormone replacement therapy?
Possible side effects of HRT can include weight gain, mood swings, and increased risk of certain conditions like blood clots and breast cancer. However, these risks are generally low and can be managed with careful monitoring by a healthcare provider.
How long does it take to see results from medical weight loss programs?
Results from medical weight loss programs can vary depending on the individual and the specific treatment plan. Some people may start seeing results within a few weeks, while others might take a few months to notice significant changes.
How do I know if my hormones are imbalanced?
Symptoms of hormone imbalance can include unexplained weight gain, fatigue, mood changes, low libido, and difficulty concentrating. Blood tests conducted by your healthcare provider can determine if your hormone levels are outside the normal range.
Is hormone replacement therapy safe?
HRT is generally considered safe when prescribed and monitored by a qualified healthcare provider. It is essential to discuss your medical history and any potential risks with your provider to ensure it is the right treatment for you.
Can I combine medical weight loss and hormone replacement therapy?
Yes, combining medical weight loss and HRT can be an effective approach for many individuals. Balancing hormones can enhance the effectiveness of weight loss medications and other interventions, leading to better overall results. Your healthcare provider can create a personalized plan that includes both strategies.

Is hormone replacement therapy safe?
HRT is generally considered safe when prescribed and monitored by a qualified healthcare provider. It is essential to discuss your medical history and any potential risks with your provider to ensure it is the right treatment for you.
When will I notice weight-related improvements after starting HRT?
Individual responses vary, but many patients begin to feel more energetic and observe changes in muscle tone and metabolic rate within 8–12 weeks of a regular HRT regimen—providing a solid foundation for sustainable weight loss.
What are early signs for hormonal imbalance?
Common early clues are lower energy, poor sleep, mood shifts, low sex drive, brain fog, and small but steady weight gain. Women may notice hot flashes or cycle changes. Men may notice motivation and performance changes.
How often should I retest?
It depends on your plan. Many people retest after a few weeks or months to see progress and adjust.
Can diet and exercise fix it?
Sometimes, yes—especially if symptoms are mild and driven by stress or sleep issues. If symptoms are stronger or long‑lasting, a medical plan may help.

Are there guarantees?

How soon will I feel results from hormone therapy?
Most patients notice initial changes—like better sleep or energy—within 4–8 weeks, with optimal results taking 3–6 months.
Why do hormone therapy timelines vary?
Your metabolism, hormone levels, age, and adherence to your plan all affect how quickly results appear.
Can I speed up my HRT or TRT results?
Healthy habits like exercise, balanced nutrition, and stress management make a major difference in your body’s response time.
What if I don’t notice changes early on?
Patience is key. Your provider will review labs and symptoms to fine-tune your dosage for consistent progress.

Weight Loss FAQs

Will I lose weight on TRT?
Testosterone itself doesn’t directly cause weight loss, but by normalizing your hormone levels it can boost energy and motivation—making it easier to stick with the diet and exercise needed to shed pounds.
How does TRT support weight management?
Once your testosterone is optimized, many patients see increased muscle mass and a faster metabolism. Over about 8–12 weeks of consistent HRT, those changes can translate into more efficient fat burning and improved body composition when combined with healthy lifestyle habits.
Can peptide therapy aid in weight loss?
Peptides such as Ipamorelin, CJC-1295, and PT-141 help accelerate your metabolism, enhance recovery, and promote lean muscle growth—all of which support more efficient calorie burning and fat loss.
What is Lipo B12 and will it help me lose weight?
Lipo B12 is an injectable blend of methionine, inositol, choline, carnitine, and B12 that helps turn fat into energy and curb appetite. When paired with a balanced diet and exercise routine, it’s a powerful adjunct to a weight-loss plan.
When will I notice weight-related improvements after starting HRT?
Individual responses vary, but many patients begin to feel more energetic and observe changes in muscle tone and metabolic rate within 8–12 weeks of a regular HRT regimen—providing a solid foundation for sustainable weight loss.

IV Vitamin Therapy FAQs

What exactly is IV therapy and how does it work?
IV therapy delivers vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and hydration directly into your bloodstream through an intravenous drip, bypassing the digestive system for maximum absorption. This direct delivery method allows for nearly 100% bioavailability of nutrients, providing immediate benefits and faster results than oral supplements or hydration methods.
Is IV therapy safe and are there any side effects?
IV therapy at True Test is administered by licensed medical professionals under strict protocols. The treatments are generally very safe with minimal risk when performed correctly. Some patients may experience minor side effects such as slight bruising at the injection site, a cool sensation during administration, or rarely, mild lightheadedness. Our medical team conducts a brief health assessment before each treatment to ensure it's appropriate for you.
How long does an IV therapy session take?
Most IV therapy sessions at True Test HRT take between 30-45 minutes, depending on the specific formula and your body's absorption rate. The frequency of treatments varies based on your wellness goals and health status. Some clients benefit from weekly sessions during periods of high stress or illness, while others maintain optimal results with monthly treatments. Our medical team will recommend a personalized schedule during your consultation.
Do I still need to take oral supplements with IV therapy?
For optimal results, many True Test clients combine regular IV therapy (weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly) with targeted oral supplements recommended by our medical team. This integrated approach provides both immediate benefits and long-term nutritional support tailored to your specific deficiencies and wellness goals.
Can anyone get IV therapy?
While IV therapy is appropriate for most healthy adults, certain medical conditions may require additional assessment or make IV therapy inadvisable. These include some kidney or heart conditions, certain blood disorders, or specific medication interactions. During your initial consultation, our medical team will review your health history to ensure IV therapy is safe and appropriate for your specific situation.
What is IV Vitamin Therapy?
